Dear Friends and Family,
I just want to take the opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy
Thanksgiving. I know that God has been so good to me in the last year. I cannot
begin to count the ways that He has truly blessed me. I look forward to another
year of God's faithfulness and the growth of the ministry here in Bulgaria.
I will not be having the traditional turkey for Thanksgiving here in Bulgaria,
but don't feel too sad for me. Jordan and I will be going to Varna on the Black
Sea for three days. We leave in the morning. It is a very nice spa/hotel. Since
it is off season (and this is Bulgaria) the prices are very low, so for about
$50 a night we will get a four-star hotel with spa treatments and meals
included. Isn't that crazy? So I will suffer on the mission field this
Thanksgiving.
On a more serious note, my father is in the hospital due to complications with
his chemotherapy. He has decided not to continue the treatment, and believes
that he no longer has cancer anyway. (The pathology report after his surgery was
very good, and they thought they had gotten everything.) Just pray that he
recovers well. They have also found that he has diabetes, and he didn't know
that before. We are not sure that this isn't another complication caused by the
chemo. God is our Healer, and I am thankful for that this season. Please pray
and believe with us for my father's complete healing.
I know that many of you are busy with holiday preparations, so I won't write
more right now.
Be blessed in Jesus' Name
Be thankful unto Him and bless His Name!
Marty
